Passport RequirementsLand-based travel (car, bus, train, foot) into Mexico for bariatric surgery requires that you have documents that comply with the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative.

The most common documents are a U.S. passport or a passport card. If you do not have a passport, we recommend that you apply for a new one.

The standard processing time for new passports is approximately 4-6 weeks. You can also apply for expedited service which takes 2-3 weeks door-to-door.

Please note the expedited service cost an extra $60.
